David LaChapelle “Dollhouse disaster, love scorned”
David LaChapelle is one of my favorite photographers and possibly one of the great artists. I would go as far as to compare him to Andy Warhol. His photographs consist of pop art and many digital photography techniques. Normally all of his photos, kind of act like a story. In this photo, Ewan McGregor looks like a love sick obsessive giant man, looking into the room of a deranged & scared Barbie doll. The title ‘love scorned’; obviously means this doll is not having it. Especially when she’s holding a gun. For Ewan McGregor’s sake I would get the hell out of there as soon possible & forget about this plastic broad. Yet this picture definitely gives a new meaning to ‘a picture tells a thousand words’. You can probably imagine your own story behind this picture. But, all of his photos are like this. And I mean all of them. He even has photograph many high profile artists and musicians like Elton John, Lil’ Kim, Eminem, Tupac, Angelina Jolie & even Elizabeth Taylor. And this is just the cream of the crop. There are so many more. You can easily look it up on Google.com images & you can see almost all of them. So many people especially other bloggers & photographers alike are so fascinated by David LaChapelle, they have dedicated sites to his artistic achievements. However, there are so many other people that take offense to his work; since a lot of his work is not all PG-13. & that’s definitely not a bad thing whatsoever. Some of the best art is overrated anyway. Like he has one photograph that shows one woman holding a bowl of cereal & another woman squirting milk from her breast into the bowl legitimately called “MilkMaid”. I thought this was hilarious but you can probably imagine the repugnant faces I got when showing this to friends. What I love about LaChapelle is that he not only takes photographs but warps in his own way by adding digital images. Which is very appeasing to the eye. & as we all know. We all love a little eye candy especially when it comes to famous people doing bizarre things.
