Interview with Ricardo Garay, CEO of Handcase:
1. How will content be interactive on mobile social networks?
Imagine our application so Doctor shared with their patients, or colleagues, hospitals, or in cases where it has research, with research centers; or the Voyage sharing travel professionals, with their company or clients. Personal trips with family and friends; or the HotCar share information with the insurer, with tuning settings shared with friends or mechanic; Diet, share your diet with a nutritionist or the Pets you share information with the veterinarian of your pet and vice versa. Just look at our catalog with a hundred applications to understand the possibilities. We have 177 applications, we are migrating 2 per month from Portuguese into English. There are now over 70 and by the end of this year will be 100 in English. Imagine 100 applications with powerful features, with the option of sharing. In the coming months detail how everything will work.
2. Why is it needed to be mobile?
In 2000 I thought that everything would be mobile in the future. In 2003 I made Handcase that it fulfilled a role in this movement. Today I am absolutely sure that was right. Mobility is everything.
3. Where is the demand?
Just observe how people are using technology and using the web, and mobility offered to see what the demand is growing. The behavior of individuals and companies that provide a new paradigm. This requires agility of companies that is focused on the mobility, Ie, be as fast as the needs and aspirations of the people, so you can meet them, with creativity and quality.
4. Who are you working with at Palm to develop applications?
In short, I created comics and animation for my movies, Launched in Brazil the first RPG to be played on the Internet in 1997, I am a programmer many years, now I’m CEO. Handcase Brazilian industry mobile software centered in the Palm platform. The Handcase grew to nearly 6 years, as RIGA mobile division, a company with 15 years. Began production of the products, and only almost 2 years after it officially launched, with its website and 30 products. In fact because of this delay is that we lost our domain handcase.com for a “smart”. So it was Handcase address with “y” because we do not accept blackmail. In 4 years and with a portfolio of 323 products (this saturday we will launch 3 more products) it consolidated the position of bigger industry of software for Palm of the world and the second game developer for Palm.
The development process works like this: I create and structure each application or game, then sent to one of the our developers, who then does exactly what it was created by me.
